Sahara Desert

The Sahara desert is one of the most iconic landmarks of the African continent. Although there are other deserts in Africa, the Sahara is well known by Africans and non-Africans alike. Movies producers and manufacturers of automobiles have named their products after the desert. It is the largest hot desert in the world, characterized by dry and dusty conditions which can present harsh living environment for humans and animals. However, some parts of the Sahara desert is home to some nations, and this signifies resilience and adaptability. The herdsmen, tribes, families and counties who live on the Sahara, have learned to build their activities of daily living around the harsh climatic conditions due to the unbearable heat and sand storms. I admire their resilience and ability to adapt. The desert serves as inspiration for me, in that some gem and discovery can be attained in the dry, hot and dusty places in life.
