The University is one of the few Universities in Nigeria with direct access to lagoons which connect to larger water bodies. It makes the study of estuarine water bodies and organisms a hands on experience, greatly enriching the knowledge base of students and researchers alike. It also gives beautiful experience of travelling by speed boats and moving to other parts of Lagos and Nigeria as a whole by water.
